Background:  A group of 440 people including 42 businesses signed a petition last spring requesting the Ashland Parks Dept. to reduce or eliminate their use of chemical pesticides and start following the City’s 1996 Pesticide Ordinance (from which Parks are exempt), which requires that pesticides be “reduced or eliminated” on City property.  See Daily Tidings article: http://www.dailytidings.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100322/NEWS/3220315
